Female wounded

At approximately 7:30 a.m. today, the Police Control Room received reports of gunshots being  heard in the Tower Drive area of Long Bay.

On arrival, police officers and Emergency Medical Services personnel discovered that a 35-year-old female had sustained gunshot wounds to the upper body. The victim was transported for  urgent medical treatment and is currently receiving care.

The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force has since launched a full investigation into this  matter.

Patrols in the area, both foot and mobile, have been increased to reassure the community and  support the investigative process.

Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed or has information about this incident to contact the Serious Crimes Unit at 231-1842 or submit tips anonymously via Crime  Stoppers at 1-800-8477 (TIPS).

Additionally, individuals are encouraged to download the Crime Stoppers P3 app to share  information anonymously.
