Fatal Accident Involving a Child

At approximately 1:01 pm yesterday, the Police Control Room received a report of a serious traffic incident involving a child on Palm Well Drive, Leeward Palms.

According to the initial report, a seven-year-old child unexpectedly ran into the path of an oncoming vehicle. The 43-year-old female driver, who immediately stopped, provided assistance at the scene and notified the police.

The injured child was transported by his parents to Cheshire Hall Medical Centre (CHMC),  where he was assessed for injuries sustained.

Despite efforts to save him, the child was tragically pronounced dead on arrival at the  Emergency Room.

The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RT&CIPF) extends its sincerest condolences to the family and loved ones during this time of profound loss.

The Traffic Enforcement Unit continues its investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
